AMVETS Valley Memorial Post 9
Middletown, MD

COMMANDER’S WELCOME

Welcome to Middletown AMVETS Post 9

We are a congressionally chartered American Veterans organization that has been established in Middletown Maryland for 77 years. Our purpose is to provide assistance to our local veterans as needed, to include but not be limited to: a place to meet for fine food, fun and fellowship; advice on gaining access to local Veteran’s Administration medical and other services; assisting our members and local community with a facility that can be rented for various parties and celebrations; and a place that is family friendly. We offer our members a place to play pool, darts, cornhole, tip jars, daily, weekly and Sunday pools, as well as to enjoy organized events like bingo, karaoke, 20/20 raffles, and other means of entertainment.

We also have a Ladies Auxiliary and a Sons Squadron who are very helpful and supportive of the Post 9 activities and endeavors. We help support Operation Second Chance veteran service organization, Paws for a Cause, and North Pointe veteran’s assistance facility in Hagerstown, Maryland. We have members who help with bingo at the Martinsburg Veteran’s hospital and home and we regularly make donations of clothing and personal hygiene items there as well. Some of our members volunteer with a local organization called People Helping People so we are very community oriented too.

All who have served our great nation as a veteran, son of a veteran or relative of a veteran are invited to join and come along-side our existing membership to help make a positive difference in a veteran’s life and to help with our events and activities. The applications to join any one of the three organizations of Post 9 may be retrieved from a current member or while visiting the post with a friend. The applications define the requirements for membership for each group.

Additionally, we do allow non-members to access the facility for our Friday Night buffet that our chef prepares each week as long as a member of good standing escorts the non-member during the visit. So, if you get the opportunity, come check us out and see if AMVETS Post 9 is an organization you’d like to join.  Just by joining you help influence veteran’s programs being considered by The Congress of the United States as those decisions are based in some cases upon membership numbers.

Respectfully,

Merhle E. Moser (Ed)
